I think I mentioned in a previous blog post about cover letters, that they give you a great opportunity to get noticed and therefore a better chance of getting invited to the interview. Hiring managers are very busy people and they only spend a few seconds on each cover letter to decide whether to read further or simply toss your resume into the trash bin.

So it’s extremely important to start off your cover letter with an eye catching headline … something that’s relevant to the position and entices the hirer to read more.
