The Value of School Maintenance And Repair In Shaping A Bright Future For All Students

The school is one of the most significant organizations in our society and one structure bears some of our fondest memories. It also has an enormous influence in our lives, in our personalities and our beliefs and perceptions of the world. That’s why we must make school maintenance and repair a regular activity.
We should work together to make the school a conducive place of learning and that means the roofs are not leaking, the paint are not peeling off the walls and ceilings, the drains are not clogged, the gym roof is not leaking, the showers have hot water when you need it, and everything is running smoothly. To put it simply, quality education is directly associated with the quality of the facilities and building. Do you expect students to learn effectively when the walls look like a mosaic and the rooms are in very poor conditions? Do you expect students to learn scientific theories and principles when the laboratories are not fully equipped and may not be even safe for experiments? These types of educational environments will yield low quality education.
That’s why the government must act closely with school administrators to make school maintenance and repair a priority in legislative and budget discussions. There must be a budget for this undertaking. However, it is a sad fact that many state executives and national government agencies are not so enthusiastic in making this investment into our future. We have to make a move now if we want to produce reliable and good citizens in the future. And that begins by standing up to the challenges of our school system and to the value of education we are compelled to deal with. Let us not forget that the students today will be the next group of managers, specialists, and employees. It is our duty to provide them quality education today. Furthermore, it is the government’s responsibility to guarantee that there is sufficient funding for repair and restoration. It is high time that we make ourselves be heard and make sure our children are given the best in education.
Not only are our schools affected by deterioration but so are other buildings and structures in our nation today. Historical buildings, houses and other establishments are as well in poor shape and badly need a number of repairs. Church restoration and repair is different from performing repairs for school buildings. Churches are not just holy places but also give shelter to a few of the most priceless pieces of art. An example of such renovation was the refurbishment of the Sistine Chapel, and you can actually spot the difference before and after the cleaning of the ceilings and the frescos. It is our responsibility nowadays to uphold the past and guarantee that the future is positive for our children.
