Do treat your work seriously and not just as a way to get money. All university jobs require you to put some effort in and not simply to do the bare minimum. Treating a job in a lackadaisical way basically makes it more troublesome. Act professionally and you are bound to get a lot more satisfaction from work.
Do try to get along well with your work colleagues. Some firms see lots of part time employees pop up and vanish, so they may not make much of an effort to begin to know you. Itwill probably be up to you to do all the friendship building. Make the effort to make chums though, because it makes work more fun and will even add a new dimension to your private life.
Do view varsity roles as an opportunity to learn new skills. Even if you’ve no intention of working in the same industry after graduation, there will still be talents you can take with you to your next job.
The donts:
Do not allow work to interfere with your studies too much. Your degree is critical and it’s probable to choose what you can do in the future ; keep this in mind.
Do not keep changing college roles every couple of months. This type of behavior looks bad to future companies and means that you cant stick to anything for long. If every job you try seems unsuitable then you may wish to examine your own perspective.
Do not develop a reputation as a bad time keeper or someone who is always off sick. If you develop this habit with college roles you are probably going to continue it through your career.
Do not allow your life to just be about work and study. Having a healthy social life is significant also. Treat relaxation time as a mandatory part of your schedule and create some time for it.
Do not miss the opportunity to capitalize on school roles when making an application for work after graduation. Many employers will be interested in your work experience even if it is notrelated to your new career.
