Sample Bank Teller Cover Letter

When preparing a bank teller cover letter it is imperative that you cover four key areas:

  • Inform the employer how you heard about the position
  • Detail why you’re interested in the position
  • Note information not included in your resume
  • Last but not least, ask for an interview

The following bank teller cover letter clearly utilizes these elements while effectively using bank industry jargon to set the right tone.

Henry Jacobs
Community Savings Bank
2345 Huntington Avenue
Little Rock, AR

Dear Mr. Jacobs:

I was referred to you by William Smith, Career Development Coordinator for Little Rock Community College, who informed me you are actively seeking to hire an experienced and customer oriented individual as a bank teller for your Huntington Avenue branch. I believe my educational background and skills would be an asset to Community Savings Bank.

As a member of the School of Business at Little Rock Community College, I have obtained a solid academic education and learned the value of excellent customer service. During my internship at Littleton Credit Union I had the opportunity to relate theory to practice in a real world environment.

In addition to this experience, I have also worked as a bank teller during part-time employment at Commerce Bank, on Glendale Blvd. Through this combination of education and experience I have gained a comprehensive understanding of the basics of federal banking law, the FDIC and customer service orientation.

I am now interested in putting the knowledge I have gained in the classroom and the real world experience I gained in my internship to work at Community Savings Bank. I am very interested in meeting with you to further discuss my qualifications as well as to learn more information of Community Savings Bank, including the possible expansion of a new branch on Seventh Avenue.

Please contact me so that we may arrange a time to meet and discuss where my qualifications and skills may relate to your current needs. I look forward to speaking with you further.

Sincerely,

Laura Covington

Always remember to close your cover letter with a strong conclusion.

In the sample bank teller cover letter resume above the job seeker lets the employer know they are aware of upcoming expansion plans-this reveals initiative on the part of the applicant in taking time to perform research.

It often helps to learn from letters created for other jobs, like this barkeeper cover letter.

Help With Bank Teller Cover Letters

How well you do this will have a big influence on whether your resume even gets read at all!

Take care to ensure that you only include details in the letter that relate directly to the specified job requirements.
